As in any school, I am sure that there is some opportunity for improvement. However, the vast majority of these teachers go far above and beyond and make great sacrifices for their students. Anyone who knows Roosevelt knows that it is a very challenging place to teach. Many of these students do not have basic needs met. Consider the teacher who is trying to teach while some of their students are actually acting as parents to their other grade school siblings. Consider the teacher who is working on increasing test scores and then gets a student several weeks into the year who speaks no English. That student then also takes the test and distorts the test scores. Perhaps more parent responsibility and reasonableness in education would increase "test scores". The success of a student;s education is seldom measured in test scores. I guarantee that many of these students will never forget the "education" they had when one of their Roosevelt teachers not only taught them but helped to meet their needs outside of the classroom.
I have to agree with the other reviewer about the bad test results! WOW! It must be bad to have my child's 4th grade teacher ask me if I ever considered homeschooling my children! I guess the public school teachers must know something we don't know. Scary! I did look up the test results and...... no way am I keeping my kids in this school! We outta here! If you care for your kids, read and research the public info on this school then if you love them, GET THEM OUT!!
Well i love this school and i love the teachers.there is a great teacher there she still teaches 5th. This school gives a great chance for stamina and the principle is amazing
