Easy to find. Public Park with large playground. 1st, setup camp site then leave your money back in the drop box at the camp host site. Within walking distance is a gravel bike trail and a cement paved bike trail 1.2 miles long. Easy walk to river. Great view of Scott's Bluff.
Worked out well for a single night's stay in a tent. Oregon Trail Days was on this weekend and the campground still had ample tent sites and a few RV sites to spare. Tent sites are located on the northern and southern fringes of the campground and come with huge very nice fire rings and picnic tables. Those on the northern end have plenty of brush and trees offering cover. It's a little tricky to find water, but my best advise is to just get it from an empty RV site or a friendly RV neighbor. Restrooms and hot showers are available here, and the facilities are mostly clean but certainly not pristine. RV sites are nothing special...just a parking space with hookups for the most part. It was dry and rather dusty when we were here, yet the mosquitoes here were the worst we'd experienced during an entire week camping through the West (probably due to the nearby lagoons and the nearby North Platte River). The camp host was hard to get a hold of, but very friendly and helpful when I did. The campground was quiet on a Saturday night, except for the wind and a number of trains going through. The site worked perfectly for what we needed, and the only thing that would scare me from returning are the crazy amount of mosquitoes.
This place is great! Don't want to give away any secrets, so you'll have to see for yourself.
We stayed one night driving through. Looks like a mix of full timers and pass throughs. Also a mix of very new to very old campers. Easy to find and get into. Pull through sites. No problems with hook ups. Could not access free WiFi at all which was one of the reasons we picked this park. Park was very quiet. Not cramped at all. Disappointed in the tall weeds allowed to grow up into some sites. Looks like the front half of the park gets more attention. Front also has the tall shade trees. We were in the back half. We would stay again.
Great WIFI! WIFI is usually poor at campgrounds but we had a great signal here. the access road to get here is unpaved and has quite a few pot holes. The Camp Hosts were friendly & helpful, it is a self registration type CG. Whoever the owner is needs to put a few bucks into for maintenance, the Camp Hosts manage it well but the restrooms are in dire need of maintenance (example: one toilet seat in ladies room was painted, now paint coming off! seriously? toilet seats are under $15) With some maintenance this could be a 5-star campground.
